Sainsburys Charity of the Year

Good news – we have been chosen to be Sainsbury’s Charity of the Year for the Pinhoe Road store.  There will be fundraising and other events that we can all get involved with.  Watch this space!

Pebble Painting

Last week at after school club, the Wednesday group spent some of the evening decorating pebbles.  These pebbles will be placed around Exeter for members of the public to find and re-hide.  We have asked that people send us a picture on Facebook when they find them so that we can see where they ended up.

Summer Bookings Open and filling up fast

The dates for our summer club are now available and bookings are being accepted. The annual 12-day summer club returns for 2018 for 4 days per week during 3 weeks of August. The club is being run at both Ellen Tinkham and Bidwell Brook schools, with each site offering a programme of activities, trips and lots of fun throughout the summer holidays.

After summer club last year one family said: “The Hollow Lane Club provides our son with structure and activity over the holidays and he can try things with the club that he’s never done before in a safe environment. He really enjoys going.”

Places are filling up fast, call Deb Ward on 01392 463823 to find out what days are still available.

The Jolly Hub Social Club

The Hollow Lane Club has opened a youth club for young adults aged 16-25.  Now beautifully named: The Jolly Hub Social Club.

For many years parents have been asking if we could run something for the older age group to keep them in contact with their friends once they leave school. Now that the Ellen Tinkham School FE College has opened up at Bodley House, providing a new stage of education for this group of young people, we decided it was time to launch our youth group. The club meets monthly at Ellen Tinkham School FE College, Bodley House, Wayside Crescent, Exeter

Young people interested in attending the group should contact Deb Ward in the first instance to register your interest.

Morrisons Funding

On January 14th we were very pleased to pay a visit to Morrisons in Exeter where we met their Manager and other staff and received a cheque for the Hollow Lane Club for £4,450.

Many thanks to Morrisons for supporting the club. The funds will support the Saturday programme this year and help pay for our activities and visits that make the days such fun for our children and young people.

Dan Perkins, Store Manager at the Morrisons store in Exeter said: “I’m really pleased that the Morrisons Foundation was able to make this donation and hope that the young people really enjoy the Saturday activities club throughout the year.”

A very special thank you to Kate, Harry, Mackenzie, Sam and Jessica who came to receive the cheque with staff from the Hollow Lane Club.
